Godwin’s Law
As a debate progresses, mention of Hitler is almost
certain and the first to do so loses the argument.
—Michael Wayne Godwin, 1990

Judging from the the past 30 years, conversations, debates and knock-down drag-outs with liberals tend to prove that Godwin's Law is sound.

The author of this law, Michael Godwin, has joined the latest unified leftist push to portray Donald Trump as an insurgent, authoritarian, tyrant, dictator, Nazi and—you guessed it—Hitler.

So what happens when Godwin's Law is applied to Godwin himself? The law stands firm and Godwin not only loses the argument—he comes away smelling like Joseph Goebbels.

Godwin's specious reasoning falls along the lines of "Nazis are bad, Trump is Hitler, therefore Trump is bad."*** No matter what Godwin says to justify his stance and excuse himself, Godwin's Law says he lost the argument...and he did.

Trump has never been any of the things listed above, not even close. Only a propagandist would describe Trump as Hitler while ignoring that all we've seen since Inauguration Day 2020 is a rapid increase in authoritarianism, government overreach and executive fiat under the Biden Administration.

By aligning himself with "The Big Lie," Godwin achieved congruency with the likes of propagandist Josef Goebbels but he can't escape the long arm of his own law.
